Yesterday I was discussing my OCD and eating disorder with my therapist, and he asked me a question and in my answer to that question I admitted that I experienced sexual abuse. I have never said those words in therapy. I have, during intake, checked the box next to sexual abuse. And I'll answer yes in response to if there was sexual abuse. But I've never mentioned it in terms of therapy.

I think this is a big step forward. But it also sort of sucks because it's like active in my head now.

Thanks, StripedTapir. I'm hoping it will be the beginning of a new chapter of progress. I'm trying to identify all the feelings I have around the abuse. It's hard because I do so much to numb it out.

Well done, Seesaw! I know it's not easy. It's a road I'm traveling and it is super challenging at times (a lot of the time), but it is a necessary path to healing.
Take it easy, take it slow. There's no rush.

Atta girl. It’s tough but it does get easier.

GREAT job, seesaw! Talking about sexual abuse takes tremendous courage. Yes, the healing is long and hard, but so worth the journey!

Massive attagirl...and can only imagine the pain of it. I can't even admit it to myself, and that's the closest I've come to "coming out" about "minor" incidents. Makes me shiver. Very very brave, and inspirational

You’re doing great, it takes a lot of courage to open up like that.
