I keep finding references to inner child work - journaling, parenting your inner child, dialogue with inner child, etc.
Honestly it strikes me as woo-woo and weird and embarrassing. I'm uncomfortable with the idea.

BUT - if it actually works, I'm willing to put that aside and give it a try. I'd learn to stand on my hands if I thought it'd help me get past these issues.

So I'm wondering if anyone here has tried this sort of thing, and how it went for them.
Thank you!!!!

You might post this question in the Psychotherapy section as some inner child work has been discussed on there previously, as I see no one has been able to answer you yet on here. I haven't done that particular therapy myself. But I understand the willingness to try anything if it will work.

@leomama I've been fighting with the VA for years to get treatment, asking for help over and over - when asking for help is like torture to me. So I feel like I want it pretty bad.
