Why would I have a flashback of a kiss between my father and I on the mouth that was forceful over 30 years after it happened?

I can't say definitely, but I have had flashbacks come slamming into me, out of nowhere, years after the thing happened. Nothing specific happened to bring it back, so why am I suddenly thinking about it? Someone suggested to me that maybe it waited until now to come up out of my subconscious because I would have freaked out before. But now I have healed enough that I can deal with processing that memory, and go on with my life.

Ooh, sorry for the sudden flashback, the best neurologists and psychiatrists

could not say without it including a bunch of theories. Mine comes in

nightmares and I am past the 40-year mark. Despite the torrent of medications

the psychiatrist part of my trauma team drowns me in. Again, very sorry that

happened.
