My mother told me yesterday she wonders if it was better for me and my sister to not exist because she had no idea the impact of the abusive relationship that me and my sister saw. I think she knows deep down that she failed as a caregiver and so I know that it comes from her guilt and sadness, of not being able to protect us but it doesn't hurt less.
