((((( sammy ))))))

You really do need to get a Doctor to look at your fingers and probably have an X-ray. In the meantime you can strap the bad finger to a good finger so it doesn't hurt so much. Please get it checked out.

i know you want to hear a way for you not to go to the doctor. i'm sorry but you do need to go. Maybe we need to talk about why you don't want to go.

Are you afraid the doctor will find out how your finger got broken? Even if it would be good to tell, no one can make you tell.

Do doctors scare you? Do you have a friend who can go with you to the doctor to help you feel safe?

Can you think of ways to comfort yourself for what needs to be taken care of here?

i hope you can get what you need to take care of yourself. It would not be good to ignore your finger and your body's needs.

I am sorry that your fingers got broken...

This can be a very serious injury, and yes...the best thing to do is go to a doctor for an x-ray. They can see where the fingers are broken, and they can determine how best to help them heal. Sometimes they will say you can get away with buddy-taping them together, sometimes you may need a special splint to wear for a while.

Not to mention, if someone else broke your fingers and did this to you...for whatever reason they may think is valid...this is not okay. If this was done to you, I suggest along with going to the Dr's that you notify the police and put the incident and the perpetrators violence on record.

I wish you the best. I'm sorry again, I can imagine they probably hurt quite badly.

Keep us posted if you are comfortable.

Sammy, I'm really concerned about how your fingers were broken. Can you say?

I strongly second Elysium has to say. Is there a reason you posted about your broken finger in this particular forum? Please get help.

Sammy, would it be too personal to ask how your fingers were broken????

If you think it's too personal, I understand. I am concerned that someone hurt you and you may not want to go to the doctor because the doctor may want to know what happened also.

Fingers and toes are really, really, funny. My friend broke her finger after a fall and had to go to the doctor to get it x-rayed to show where the finger was broken. The x-ray showed that it was fractured and a splint was put on the finger to keep it stable. She was also given pain pills and an muscle relaxant to ease the pain.

if u just leave them, they will mend crooked and may limit you from using them proper. then you'd have to have them re-broken and set and casted. that's no fun. pls get them checked out, k?

while it is best you see a doctor - you may consider splinting and immobilizing your broken finger. Limit using that finger as much as possible and give it some weeks to heal. That, in essence, would be similar to what a cast or splint will do for you if you get it done at the doctor's office. <PS - I am NOT a doctor or giving you medical advise - only a suggestion based on my experience in the military>

Probably best to go to a doctor, you don't want it to heal wrong cause then they will need to break them to set them right again. And will want to know why you didnt come earlier. Just make up an excuse. Fell of the stairs. Broke them playing soccer/hockey/basketball... Tripped over something....
And maybe consider telling someone you trust about the abuse...
And you may want to post about it in the health forum too?
maybe i'm late replying, anyway, just some ideas
Keep us uptodate ok?
