I have gone to my first AA meeting. I was terrified and anxious about going, I never really believed I was an alcoholic. For years I lied to myself about my addiction.
I had a good experience though, and will be starting my 12 steps. 4 days sober ![]() |

I'm glad for you, Perfectlyflawed. How is it going? I'm going to start going to meetings again because I'm now getting treated for alcoholism and depression. Part of the journey is the support from others who are going through the same struggles. I finally accepted this and have faith I will succeed. Hope you are doing well!

i'm in AA and it's what keeps me sober for sure. I have no hope without it. I have about 5 months sober and the days are getting easier. Thank you for starting this thread.
Try to start getting phone numbers of other sober people. It's hard to walk up to someone you don't know and ask for their number, harder still to make those calls to people you don't know. Very, very worth it. I now have three or four people i speak to regularly and I get rides to and from meetings sometimes and have people to talk to about my day, good or bad. Have a good sober day. |
