I'm having a hard time with step 2....Having a hard time getting started on working on the step. What are some tricks that I can use to get me to start working on it... it just seems too hard.

Begin by re-reading what the Big Book says about Step Two. See where you are in relation to what the BB says and where you are falling short. For many people the stumbling block is the concept of Higher Power. Maybe that is it with you? You might need some help developing the idea of a Higher Power - what that looks like to you. If you aren't connected to any religious group, then you can, as they say, use your 12-Step group/concepts as your Higher Power, at lease temporarily and maybe permanently. There is great wisdom in the 12 Steps and the program and you may need to look no further than that.

The most important is that you are on the path and seeking.

I strongly suggest getting help from someone in the program who has experience with the steps...do you have a sponsor yet?

Step 9 is where the real fun starts! Seriously, anyone can help you with the steps, doesn't have to be an official "sponsor".

Just keep going and don't lose your momentum. When I get bogged down in the details, fear is generally the problem but the directions are right in the Steps themselves. I agree with mountain human - anyone in the program can help - doesn't have to be a sponsor.
