I'm working Step One. My sponsor has me doing written homework. I bought a big, thick, new notebook for stepwork. I thought if there's someone out there who wants to work step one like this I could offer you what I'm doing. This is working for me and I've done the steps a lot, but never like this, I've written like 10 pages or more. I have one week sober today. I meet with her next week to go over this.

1.Write about your relapse, specify feelings and thinking leading up to your drinking. Write as much as you want, be honest

2. Write about Step One. Write why you are powerless and why your life is unmanageable. Be honest. Be specific.Write your own bedevilments. Write about your attempts to stop drinking and your failures at stopping.

3.Write what you want out of this program. Write what you want in your life. Don't censor or limit yourself. The sky is the limit. It is ok to desire for yourself. Write your own promises.

I think that is an extremely helpful activity. I find it helpful at times to write things down on paper it is a good way to vent.

This seems like a great idea. I am using the 12 steps for compulsive debting and spending.

This is good advice, thanks so much for sharing. Alot of my drinking is due to relationship issues and anger and frustration with my fiancé.

That is an awesome approach. I always find being able to read over what I have written to help to really cement things in my mind.
