I read about "when do you go to the mental hospital" and new treatments and sui methods and this forum and all that sort of crap. And you people are pretty darn nice and some of you are very knowledgeable. I read many many messages and don't write many. I'm always hoping it will help to read those messages, but it really doesn't. It really amazes me when folks talk about "oh they had a bad day at work." Oh my gosh, you go to work? That sounds like such a good thing. I couldn't be in charge of sweeping the kitchen floor each day. Shower is a major accomplishment. Clean socks. A load of laundry that doesn't stay in the washer or dryer for a week.

I explained why my thread was closed in the last message to that thread (sorry if you missed that!). I wanted to encourage members to start their own threads (like this one!) to discuss their own personal experiences and share support with one another. My welcome thread was just that -- a post to welcome you to the forum.

Hi badcloud, I'm going back to work for the first time in 6 months tomorrow and I feel pretty much as you do, not to be trusted with sweeping the kitchen It still takes me nearly and hour and a half to get a shower, including 15 minutes where I stand staring at the shower thinking about pressing the start button. So how I'm actually going to manage with work I've no idea, other than not to take a shower as it takes too long.
Hope you find some relief soon. |

Please at least take a shower or bathe!
If you are going to be out in the world, and as difficult as it is ... Please do not neglect your hygiene! If you don't take care of your hygiene, bad stuff happens ... On public transit ... In the work place ... At restaurants and coffee shops! The last thing you want to happen is to be kicked off, kicked out and/or sent home because of it! Trust me on this! Good Luck & Best Wishes On Your First Day Back! Sincerely, Pfrog! |

Pfrog, I definitely agree. I have been in a deep major depressive episode since January and just discovered this summer three cavities from not taking enough dental care! I just wasn't able to take care of myself properly. It can be really hard sometimes. Hugs to all who are struggling with this!

I managed to get a shower before I went to work and choose some smart clothes to wear but today I skipped the shower. My washing machine has broken so clean clothes are in short supply, I'm getting a new washing machine in a couple of days though. I found the hardest part was talking to so many people and trying to smile, that will be easier when I have work to do and can hide behind my computer. |
