Has anybody tried the Fisher Wallace Stimulator? I keep seeing advertisements and am considering trying it for 30 days. I am currently doing ECT once every 3 weeks and might increase it to every 2 weeks. The stimulator seems like a low grade ECT. I am desperate.

I have been on and off of antidepressants for 15 years and most of them had no effect on me. The one or two that did work eventually wore off after a few months. It was a risky investment for me to purchase a device like this one, but now I am so glad that my doctor told me to look into this. Not only do I not have to take medication anymore, which may cause side effects and dependency issues, but it ends up being a lot cheaper in the long run. Although my depression is not completely cured, I find that there has been a significant decrease in my sad spells. I sleep much better, and I am much less irritable with family. My depression is managed much better and much more consistently with the Fisher Wallace stimulator, and I am so glad that I took the plunge to actually buy it!

Thank you so much for your reply, I think I am going to try the FWS. It is a big investment and I am not sure it will work with my anxiety and depression but I need something. Thank you again.

If you look at the site/literature, the doctors behind the FWS have good reputations. Don't take my word for it, check them out!

I, personally, think it's a reasonable option to try.
I am looking at this option with my pdoc, too.

I tried the Fisher Wallace Stimulator but it did nothing for me. I was glad that I could at least send it back to get most of my money back. I hope you have better luck with it.

Check with your health insurance company. Some health plans cover the costs. Ask them for the name and contact info of their medical device provider. Contact the provider and ask them if they carry the device. If they do carry it they will let you know how much you would have to come out of pocket if any.

Good luck

May I ask what your diagnosis is? I bought the devise but I haven't yet used it. My diagnosis I'd dysthymia (I believe it now has a different name), PTSD, generalized anxiety and panic attack with agoraphobia.

They have a 30 day trial period. They gave me an extra 30 days when I told them I thought I needed it. I think it helps but haven't wanted to risk coming off of my meds.
Thanks for this!
