Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy

A friend mentioned she may try this type of therapy. I looked it up and apparently it is meant for chronic depression.

Just wondering if anyone else has heard of it or has possibly used it.

Can you please let me know?

Hadn't ever heard of it before. There's a website cbasp.org you can check out. I'd like to learn more; the little I red on that site has me intrigued. It refers to patients "inappropriate behavior" in session and corrective measures for that as well as approaches to engender a more empathetic response (I think) from the patient towards the therapist. Frankly it's a little confusing; it makes the patients (which would be me as I have chronic major depression) sound difficult. More like they have a personality disorder (like BPD).

The site has a resource for locating CBASP providers. It's not a long list.

I hope others chime in.

Thanks lavendersage. I spoke to my therapist about it & it turns out she has been trained in it. she is in the process of digging out a book she has on it to lend to me. I'll go through it and then talk to her about it. Thanks for finding the website - I'll go rummage around and see what it is there.
