So, I have recently been switched off of Remeron to Cymbalta due to weight gain issues. Anyone have any luck with Cymbalta?

Cymbalta (& its generic equivalent) was the best antidepressant (for me) I ever took. (I started out on the name brand & then switched to the generic when it became available.) I was on the maximum recommended dosage & there were few side effects. One thing I did notice, after I had been on it for a while, was I seemed to develop some mild jerkiness in my hand & arm movements. However, I'm an older person & that may have had something to do with that.

I wouldn't say that the Cymbalta, or it's generic equivalent, kept me from being depressed entirely. But it "kept a floor under me", so to speak so that I never sank too low. I went off of it when I changed insurance plans & my out-of-pocket cost skyrocketed. When I went off of the generic equivalent I tapered off over the course of 2 weeks with very little trouble.

It works really well for me. It does not entirely get rid of depression but it allowed me to function for many years.

Cymbalta is a popular antidepressant that helps control neurotransmitters and hormones, improving moods and alleviating pain. Eli Lilly manufactured this multi-use, billion-dollar drug, which received FDA approval for alleviating mental and physical discomfort.

Unfortunately, patients wishing to discontinue use of the drug often suffer from side effects that impair their health, ones that can last weeks after stopping Cymbalta treatment. These withdrawal symptoms range from headaches and dizziness to suicidal ideation and blackouts.

It is advised to consult your doctor for proper medication and dosage.
