I am a patient at a community mental health center. Therapists change frequently to get better jobs.
I had one young male therapist ask me out of the blue if I believed in Jesus. He went on to tell me he got to know Jesus when he was possibly facing prison time, but then the situation just went away. He had also told me once he had been a male "*****".
My immediate thought about the undisclosed crime he was facing charges for...but just went away...was that he may have been charged with or suspicioned of having committed rape.
I professionally know rape victims very often recant which could have made the situation just "go away".
I learned from that something I've been aware of...I tolerate more from male therapists, or any man, than I do from female therapists. I'd have asked for a different therapists a couple of times when I felt a female therapist was not appropriate for me...not inappropriate...just not appropriate for me.
I finally spoke up about the male therapist after he had left to go to a different job.
Please, I'd like some input about the therapists behavior.

Do you not trust your own judgment? This guy's behavior was over the top inappropriate, possibly even criminal. I would have walked out of the room and gone straight to a manager or supervisor the minute those words were even out of his mouth
