My mom died a year and a half ago. My grandma, grandpa and uncle passed before her and my other grandma and grandpa and an aunt and another uncle passed since. I am so over whelmed with grief I cant function in every day Life. I can barely hold down a job and ive lost several friends family and soon to be my fiancee all because they dont want to deal with me and my depression any more. Ive done in patient therapy out patient therapy. I'm currently on meds. I just started a new job that I'm already screwing up. I dont know what to do any more and I cant afford any more help. Please help...

I am very sorry for the losses and the associated grief.
Have you been treated for grief? How long have you been treated for depression? Has your pdoc ever told you your depression is "treatment-resistant?" I hope you can find a way to feel better as soon as possible. Don't give up, even though it's as frustrating as can be. Thank you! I'm glad to find people who understand even though I'm sorry they have to go through it. I've been hospitalized inpatient twice first last June then again in July and they diagnosed me with bereavement, treatment resistant depression, and anxiety. I'm being treated for the depression and anxiety with my primary care doctor but everyone keeps telling me theres nothing they can do for bereavement. Its so diheartening. I tried going to a grief therapist but it is so expensive and without all those people around its just me and my fiancee in a new home we just purchased and I'm the only one working and its just part time because I cant handle any more than that. I just wish I had my mom.

You have endured a lot of losses in a short amount of time. Sometimes Pastoral Counselors will make their services available for free. They often deal with grief... and with couples. Just a thought. I do understand as I had lost several family members in a short amount of time, too. It takes time to work through the grieving process. I hope your fiancé can find a way to understand your grief, which is compounding your depression and anxiety. Have you ever looked into NAMI? They offer support groups and educational programs for families. www.NAMI.org. Don't give up. I have survived with grief and treatment-resistant depression for over 40 years now. Keep posting. Keep asking questions and seeking answers. The main Depression forum can also be very helpful. Lots of good people here, hoping to help. I will check back in. I hope you can get some inner peace and some rest. Wild Coyote __________________ May we each fully claim the courage to live from our hearts, to allow Love, Faith and Hope to enLighten our paths. |

I haven't heard of NAMI but I'm going to check it out. Thank you for the info and the warm welcome!

I was thinking about you this morning. Thought I'd add a note about Adderall. My depression has been very treatment resistant for 35-40 years. Everyone is different. Just wanted to mention I am having some luck with Adderall. Adderall is not usually offered unless someone has ADD/ADHD or treatment-resistant depression. Adderall: amphetamine salts.
Just a thought I'd wanted to share with you. Wild Coyote __________________ May we each fully claim the courage to live from our hearts, to allow Love, Faith and Hope to enLighten our paths. |

Rani, you may want to check with Hospice. In my area Hospice offers a grief support group. Just a thought.
