It's like the meds put up a wall and the depression punches through it. Then the meds patch the hole only to have it punch through again later.

i am going to ask my doctor about it...but of course my insurance won't cover it...and im not sure i can afford it.. i hope it works for you..

Ask your provider about doing a Genesight test. It tells you what psychotropic drugs are most likely to work for you.

There are 22 Antidepressants. There are three that are genetically likely to work for me...

Yes!! I had this and thankfully insurance paid for it. It turns out most all of the meds I've been on are ineffective. (As if I didnt know) It did mention one ...only one that might be effective e but I haven't tried yet because if it doesn't work...then what?
I've tried ECT so many times my memory is messed up. Maybe I'll talk to the doctor about Ketamine. I had it combined with ECT but it just made me loopy for a while.

No but if ECT wasn't very helpful, I doubt TMS would be...I don't know.

Just my opinion but ECT can work wonders. To reduce memory issues the doc will start with ultra brief pulse, unilateral. Have you read the book SHOCK by Kitty Dukakis?

I started ketamine treatment a week ago. I think I had ketamine with no frills. I was ill prepared as the whole process was prepackaged for me , no discussion about what happens during this process . 5 straight days in a row. 2 hrs of infusion, drip drip drip. I had to HIRE a caregiver to sit with me for 2 hrs. They run so many people thru this thing that they are understaffed , so if the caregiver notices anything they notify a nurse.

Unfortunately, my SO did not want to be my caretaker because 1. I didn't want her to put off bad vibes in the room.
2. She doesn't understand anything about it and really doesn't give a 💩 about me. So now I have to find a therapist that understands ketamine and will listen to me.

I'm gonna make this short and continue later on the other points regarding my infusion.
TRD vs. Ketamine. TRD wins round one.

Please PM me if you want a private discussion about mine ( or your ) experience with ketamine.

Best to all......

As a follow up , I went in for a " booster " shot of ketamine. 2 weeks after the initial 5 infusions in 5 days. I think that unless you couple this with " ketamine treatment therapy " you'll lose out. You need someone to talk to that understands what ketamine is all about. I had a bad trip and wanted to stop the infusion before it was done. The infusion is 2 hours. I felt neglected and started to have a panic attack. I was supposed to do 2 days in a row but cancelled the 2nd session. I really believed that this stuff would help create new neural pathways that I so desperately need. One last caveat. My living situation is love free. I'm hoping to gain the courage to get the hell out of this situation. I'm desperate for someone to talk to. Please PM me if you'd like to talk about anything. Best to all of you guys out there...........
