I've had depression for 12+ years and have been treated for it for about 10 years, with not much success.

From recent introspection, I think I can tie the root cause of most of my depression to ADHD symptoms I have. I really am wanting to have my ADHD symptoms curbed so I can flourish like a normal person in my productivity and organization of life.

The problem is, my doctors don't want to look at that because my anxiety and depression, and want to continue attempting to treat that, even though it hasn't worked for 10 years. How do I convince them to really listen to me and try something new?

It is so difficult sometimes to get a physician to real listen and hear what one is saying. I've been in that position and had to resort to doctor shopping which didn't turn out particularly well in my case. Wish I knew what to say that would help but I am kind of in the same boat. Sorry you are in that situation.
