I meant to start this a long time ago but haven't had the time. Here is a picture walkthrough of how to post a picture in a post.
To begin: If you are starting a new thread: In the forum of your choice, click the "New Thread" Button: In the next screen, Enter the title of choice, and type the message you want to precede the picture. If you are posting a reply to an existing thread: Click the "Add Reply" Button at the bottom of a thread. Now, type in the message you want before the picture. The picture must be online, hosted on a site such as Imageshack.us Images can be uploaded by following the simple instructions on the site. Now that you have your image on a site such as Imageshack, find the link thats usually called "Direct Link" on the site you chose for your upload. This should be listed right under or beside the picture you uploaded. Next I have shown you how it looks on imageshack. You want to click at the start of the address. Hold down the left mouse button, and drag to the end of the address so it is highlighted in blue as you see above(or possibly another color, depending on your browser). alternatively, you can try double clicking in the box that contains the address, and it should auto-highlight the whole address. Now that it is highlighted, right-click the mouse over it and choose "copy". Now go back to the window where you are making your post, and choose the little picture Icon: Once you have clicked the Button, you will see a small window pop up like the following picture. click inside the textbox in that window, right-click your mouse, and select "paste", and then click "okay": Now all you have to do is watch the picture come up in the post, and finish up any typing you want to do after the picture. Finally, click the "Submit Reply" or "Submit New Thread" button directly under your text box. Whala! You have put a picture into your thread. Some final things to note are the size of pictures - its generally frowned upon to post HUGE pictures that cause you to need to scroll sideways to see the whole thing. Imageshack itself has a resize option you can use if your picture is really big. If your wondering about what size to use, generally nothing bigger than 640 X 480 is a good maximum. That is pixels X pixels and in most programs you will see the option to choose that. Happy Picture Posting! |
