My best friend since 6th grade is getting married August 7th. We really don't have anything in the way of gowns/dresses in so. ill. so I'm probably going to be buying it online or at least looking online then maybe driving somewhere to actually buy it. Does anyone know of a good website for this type of occasion? Nothing too flashy or anything, I'm a pretty simple type o' gal. (and I'm not very good at this being dressy thing so I don't really know what to look for y'know?)

I thought I would add that I think I'm an hourglass shape? My measurements are 40-28-39 and I'm 5'9''. What type of dress do you think would fit my body shape?

I'm not a bridesmaid though. I live 6 hours away from her and, with all the responsibilities they have, I couldn't be one. So that's not the kind of thing I'm looking for.

Definitely not formal haha. But not necessarily informal.....more middle of the road. My bf and I were going to STL on Wed to see Demetri Martin and he said he would take me to the west side to look cause I guess they have a lot of stuff there? (I've always been a tomboy so this is new to me lol)

I borrow "fancy" clothes from my sister-in-law and also my niece-in-law. I'm a jeans, polo shirt and tennis shoe person not a fancy clothes gal!
I also get a lot of clothes from the local consignment and thrift stores. Several churches run some, also the Kidney Foundation and The Junior League.

Most of the time I find like new clothing for pennies on the dollar. Most all my polos are Ralph Lauren and I never pay more than $2.50! To me, it's a game of quality clothing for a fraction of the price.

But, understandably, used clothing isn't for everyone. Once I launder the goods, then they are mine!

I applaud you for starting your search early! That's smart!

Thanks guys! Yeah, I'm the opposite of dressy. I wear jeans and a t-shirt pretty much all the time. Maybe I should sign myself up for that What Not To Wear haha
