I know some of the typical symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection like discharge and itchynes. My question is this... is pain or discomfort inside the vagina associated with vaginal yeast infections? The pain or discomfort I am describing is short term (1-2 minutes and then its gone).

Yep, it goes away with the infection. So sorry that you're having this problem, it sucks.

It's hard to know without knowing the exact 'pain' you mean. Because, ever since I can remember, I have random shooting pains that shoot up through my vagina (and sometimes - which is even more uncomfortable - through my bum) couldn't really think of a polite way to say that haha

But it's just shooting pain that sometimes brings me to my knees but I don't know if that's what you're talking about. This pain happens whether or not I have a yeast infection. I get regular pap smears and std testing which have always come back normal and have been tested for HIV (since they don't do that during pap smears).

I have never been pregnant or had an abortion or a miscarriage so no one really knows what my pain is from. If you find out let me know lol

The pain is kinda like a shooting pain but it goes away very quickly (1-2 minutes at the most). I get regular Pap Tests and pelvic exams...etc. And I am a card holding member of the "Born Again Virgin's Association"!

It sounds like mine but I've never mentioned it to my doc. I already have PCOS (which took over 2 years to diagnose) so I was pretty hesitant to mention something else y'know. well good luck with it!

In the past, my doctor has said to use Monistat to treat it and it has worked.

They now have the OTC tester to check to see if it is a yeast infection.
