Drinking water won't do anything except make you have to pee more often and be in even more pain. If it is mild then sometimes Cranberry juice can clear it up but if it really hurts that bad I would go to the doc. It's probably a UTI or bladd infection which is just a few pills of an antibiotic and you're done. I used to get them a lot when i was 16-18. Then I haven't gotten one since.

cranberry juice along with meds helps. the juice helps flush out your bladder. better than water.

You probably should go to the doctor anyway, get blood/urine testing, as there can be all kinds of things wrong where that is/is not a symptom; I almost died from an infection and it didn't ever hurt to pee. The hurting is a symptom; not a cause/method of telling whether you're well (yet) or not; cancer can stop hurting after a bit but that doesn't mean it's gone away.
