I was started on Loestrin Fe pills last week and ever since boy howdy do my boobs hurt. Is this just a coincidence or is it normal? My nipples are hard and my boobs are very sore. I told my mom about it and she said it was normal that my body is acting like it is pregnant because of the pill but that doesn't sound right. So is she correct or should I call the doctor?

Your mom is right. My breasts gained 2 cup sizes when I started the Pill.

I didn't notice my breasts growing, but I was on The Pill and that can happen. I'm on Risperidone, and my boobs have grown. I attributed that to weight gain (gotta get my weight in check!), but once my pdoc told me the Risperidone could do that, I figured that's why I'm now in D and double-D bras! (I need to get a bra fitting and find out exactly what my size is.) I also lactate a tiny bit, also a symptom of Risperidone.

These side effects, especially nausea and vomiting, may decrease or subside within the first three months of use."

when on the pill watch out because high overal can give you big blood clots and make your body feel sore..

I wasn't aware that it could cause me to gain weight. I guess that explains the weight gain I had at the doctor today. I freaked out when I saw how much I weighed. I guess I will go back to writing every thing down and having my T go over it with me to see where I can tweak it so I can lose the weight I put on.

If it continues to bother you then there are other birth controls that don't affect you as much. Zovia was my first birth control and I had no weight gain or any side effects. I am now on the nuva ring and I haven't seen myself change at all either. I think it depends on your body and the hormones but I've had friends try a couple pills before they settled on just one.

Birth control pills do sometimes make peoples boobs feel sore, This happend to me the first 4 months, but it went away after that. And yes, Birth control does make people gain weight, but the depo shot makes people gain more.

I called my gyno and she said she didn't believe it was the pill that made me gain weight but she was willing to change my pill so she changed it to Ortho trycicline (sp). It kind of made me mad when she said that she didn't think that it was the pill that made me gain weight because I think all she sees is a fat person when she looks at me. I could be wrong but I have had experiences with doctors that when they see me all they see is a fat person. I am hoping that new pill won't be as bad for the weight gain if at all.
