A couple of months ago I started taking Levathin FE or something like that. Well I got my period 2 weeks after starting it and got PMS from hell and was switched to Ortho Trychilin. Ever since being put on the pill I have had my period every 2 weeks and they are hard and fast, Just a major pain in the butt. I am on the last week of the pill which is when you are supposed to have your period but I have already had my period 2x this month. Is this normal? Does it just take time for your body to get used to the pill or should I just realize that I am not going to have a period and not to worry. I am not having sex and not trying to have a baby so there is no reason for me to have a period. So I don't really have to have a period. I have chosen to go off my BC pills just to go back to not having a period. Is this wise?

It takes 3 months for your body to get used to it and during that time you will get breakthrough bleeding, which it what you are describing. If it hasn't stopped after the 3 months It would be best to consult your doctor. Good luck

jbug, I didn't really understand the last part of your post. You say you went off of birth control pills? When? Recently? If so, your period will probably normalize since you are not taking the hormones anymore. What is your reason for taking the birth control pills, since you currently don't need contraception? (I used to be on BCPs for pain, and found them very helpful.)

I hope I am understanding this correctly. You were taking the pill to have a cycle every month, right? I know I took them for that purpose during high school because they were to make things so much easier (not). I noticed I was having a cycle every two weeks. I quit taking them because two cycles a month in high school wasn't fun. After I married, the doctor adjusted my pills until we found the right ones for me.

Yes I was taking them to have a cycle every month but was having it every 2 weeks so I quit taking them. I just started again but then it stopped just as quickly as it started. So hopefully it will regulate itself again. I am going off the pills though because it is way too hard on my system to have the cycle every two weeks.
