Went to the gyno today and since I have forever been irregular the doctor suggested I start takinf birth control. Since I obviously have no idea when I will have my next period she gave me a medicine that is generic for Provera to cause me to have one.
Has anyone taken it before? Experience with it?? |

I've taken it a couple of times. I used to be on a high dosage of Risperdal and one of the side effects is that it can mess with your periods (raises your prolactin levels and basically causes your body to think it's nursing). I don't remember anything unpleasant about it and it did cause me to have a normal period. I wouldn't worry about it - just be prepared for your period to start at any time once you begin taking it. I think it took a few days for mine to finally come once I started taking the medicine.
