A little humor ...

I had a procedure yesterday and it went well; it will take some time to recover. The funny thing was that right after the procedure in anesthesia recovery, the nurse was telling me she'll get in touch with my "husband" and get the rest of my discharge paperwork to him. (Mind you, I was single going in to the procedure.) My groggy immediate response was, "Oh crap, I would really like to meet him; I know you told me not to make any important decisions because of the anesthesia for 24-36 hours. How long was I out? (response:45 minutes) I've woken up married? How could you let me do that under the influence and in this hospital gown, maybe that's what did it?! Where is the lucky fellow?" Was looking around, smiling and laughing by then. The doc, who happens to be very handsome and single was standing there LHAO, and that's when I realized he was there, then I was so embarrassed, thought it was just the nurse there; the nurse apologized but chuckled after realizing I was joking. I explained it was my father with me and to get it to him, then I fell back asleep. Still chuckling inside at the thought and what else I might have said while under the influence. Oh my.

HAHAHA!!! As a nurse, let me say you've brightened many a staff person's day as they retell that story!! (although they probably think of that nurse as a real dumbo!!) lol
