I have noticed on my peroids I get very fatigued, very weak, headachey, severe cramps, and sick to my stomach even to the point of vomitting. I have also noticed that I (not in conjunction with just my period) have been bruising really easy lately, being really fair I have alwasy had bruises show up clearly, but I have noticed my bruises are developing easier, I work in the dog grooming business and if I have a large dog that pulls hard on the safety lead we use at work to lead them from the kennel to the table, it will bruise my hand or arm, wherever I have the end of the lead placed to hold. I am starting to wonder if I have some sort of vitiman deficnecy. my boyfriend notices I am always tired, and it just gets worse on my period, I will sleep up to over 10 hours a day while on my peroid, I come home from work around 1pm and sleep till he wakes me up when he gets home at 7:30pm.

I plan to go to a doctor or see a gynocologist, I just have moved to a new area though and have to get the insurance information from my dad (still on my parents' insurance) for doctors in the area, I wanted to see if anyone else had these experinces or similar ones.

Thanks,
Typo

Have you always bruised easily? Wondering if you get a bloody nose, does it bleed for a long time? It could be anemia (low iron) and it's best to ask for complete blood work and ask for vitamin D levels. You may as well ask for your thyroid levels as well.

My 9 yr old had an episode of bloody noses last yr. - the problem was they lasted up to 45 min, which is excessive. The doctor did a blood test to see if she had the proper clotting factor....luckily she did. I hope the blood test turns out well and hope you feel better soon.

Hey Popo! Glad to hear you got a job!

To me, in all my worldly experience, it sounds like anemia. But I am not a doctor, so you should still see a doctor and, like Lynn said, ask for full blood work done. But I have anemia and I take iron (among a million other vitamins, as my last pdoc recommended) every day. But yeah, when I'm on my period and not taking my iron, I get SUPER tired and and weak. I'd also recommend taking a women's multi vitamin everyday if you're not.

And just so it's out there, I take
3 Fish oil capsules
1 Calcium and Vit. D
1 Calcium, Vit. D, and Magnesium
Iron
B-Complex
Multi vitamin

So, definitely go talk to your doctor, and let us know how everything turns out! Take care!!

Yeah, that was what I found, I haven't always bruised easy, it;s just been within the past year or so, I don't get nosebleeds either. Thank y'all so much for the help, I will definitely be going to the doctor soon and getting some tests done

I had a vitamin deficiency a while back. It's not the same as what you have, I think, and it didn't really affect my period as much. But I was super tired all the time and in combination with depression it was not fun. Muscles ached, and everything. After several tests turned out I had a B12 deficiency.

Definitely get yourself to the doctor - I agree it COULD be a form of anemia - I know I was almost anemic when they found out, there are different types of anemia and what you're describing could be another one =)

*hugs* and good luck!

I have been taking a women's multivitiman everyday when I take my birth control and I already feel the difference, I am not nearly as fatigued and boyfriend commented the other day how much perkier and energetic I seemed. I feel a lot better and I noticed the leads we use at work for the dogs aren't leaving brusies on my hands and wrist anymore. Thank y'all so much for all the advice!!
