Ginger is good for nausea. I also found having a stash of crackers beside the bed to eat before I got up helped in first pregnancy, not so in the second..

Zofran, yes, I had forgotten about that. I got some IV Zofran in the ED last year and it was great!

Throwing up a lot generally means you have high hormone levels which is a good thing.
Food doesn't matter so much, but try keeping your fluids up and drink small amounts often. Drinking large amounts will increase the chances of you vomiting.
Pinch the skin on the back of your hand often to check for dehydration and if you're worried, please see a doctor.
Most normal morning sickness only lasts 12-14 weeks into a pregnancy so start the countdown!

Be sure to take folic acid. It is important especially in the early stage of pregnancy.

I'm on my third pregnancy now, and I can tell you that an empty stomach will make you more nauseous, which is why the saltine crackers are a good choice. Also try a straight peppermint tea. Make sure that it is mint only, and doesn't have other ingredients. Celestial Seasonings makes one. As much as people speak of the power of herbs, a lot of herbs used in herbal teas are not good for pregnancy, and a lot of teas add herbs you wouldn't expect.

I'm 33 weeks right now, and I am still having morning sickness off an on this time, but not intense. My toothpaste is a trigger...

Also try "sea bands" which are normally used for sea sickness. I've never tried them but some women say they are a huge help! And you just wear it on your wrist, so nothing internal. Hopefully it will all go away after the first trimester for you! My first two did.

CONGRATS! Maybe try peppermint tea, if that doesn't work go to organic health store near your area and ask the person at the front desk, or google it.

Try not to undereat or overeat. Ginger and ginger ale is helpful. Try not to eat and drink at the same time. I found that sucking on lemon drops and hard candy was helpful. Also if the smell of something makes you nauseous don't try to eat it. I couldn't eat poultry my whole pregnancy! The doctor won't give you meds unless you have hyperesmis gravidum where you are so sick you are losing weight and not gaining at all. I wouldn't drink peppermint tea as mint can cause reflux which you're already prone to pregnant, chamomile would be a safer choice.
