I was wondering. My period was really late this month (by like 10-15 days), I'm assuming because of stress. I was wondering if I should expect it to go back to it's "regular" time next month and hence have a really short cycle this next month, or if it will have a new "regular" time of month because of this month. I hope that question makes sense. Thanks.

No way to know how your body will respond. I think though that it won't go back to a previous time, will be in 28+ days (if your stress or whatever is less); it has to do its thing and cannot do it "faster" (to be ready by your old date), only slower/longer.

I do not remember how old you are but if in your mid- to late-40's could be menopause messing with you. That can take 3-4 years and your period will almost never be predictable.

My cycles were always wacky. I'd go 30 days one month, 40 days, then 35 then maybe 26. Until after 2 babies and then I went on birth control pills which of course 'regulated' the time. Some of us just are normally irregular.

Thanks for your replies. I'm only in my 20s so i hope it isn't menopause. Before this month since I started my periods it has been extremely predictable. It was hard waiting to see every day if it would start. And now it is extremely heavy. Ugh. I wish I could just not have to deal with the whole thing.
Thanks for this!

Periods can change through the years. If you gain/lose weight, have/reduce stress, engage in more/less sex, different meds, etc. It's a dynamic condition, like the rest of your body. I would go to the doctor's in a couple months, discuss the change and see if s/he sees or can think of anything that might have caused it.
