Is it possible to induce your cycle? I haven't had my period in two months and I finally feel like it's ready to arrive, but it won't! I'm bloated, crampy, major PMS, sore breasts - all the signs, but it hasn't started yet! No, I guarantee I am not pregnant. Yes, my doctor knows I missed a period in January. UGH!

When is Febs period due? If it gets, I don't know, a week over that date then probably fairly safe to assume it is missed, otherwise it could still happen.

An odd thought that came to mind was raspberry tea... I think that is supposed to have something to do with periods and I might even vaguely recall mention that pregnant women should not take it because it can cause miscarriage? It might induce periods, no idea.

It was due three days ago. I wish it would arrive! I am in physical pain right now that won't go away, but will likely (I would imagine) be relieved when it gets here!

Raspberry tea? I will have to see if I can find something out about that, thanks for the suggestion!

You probably just ovulated a bit late due to stress. It's better to just let your body sort itself out. It's not harmful to miss periods.

If you are not eating properly or exercising too much, you can mess up your cycle and then, no, inducing it won't happen. Your body misses for a reason, it's not under our "control" and it can be harmful to mess with it. My girlfriend was a professional athlete but when she trained too hard would miss periods.

I am not sure if this is still an issue, but i do have experience in this area...My last period was in december of 2010. The one before that had been in April 2010. I was most definitely not pregnant, as I had a tubal in '97.

The doctors can give you progesterone pills, like provera or prometrium, to induce bleeding, which they would recommend every three months if you were still missing periods.

It can become dangerous if you miss too many cycles as the lining of the uterus could continue to build up (since it is not being shed each month.) This thickening of the lining can put you at a higher risk of developing uterine cancer.

I do caution women however...if you are dealing with any mental health issues, for example, I am bipolar, these progesterone hormone pills can cause severe mood swings.
I personally can not take them because of this.

I hope maybe this info helps...
love to all,
Karma

Thanks everyone!

I've had irregular periods for a while, but lately, they've been really bad, and I have been in intense pain when it doesn't arrive, and even worse (if you can imagine) when it does. Turns out I have some cysts that have grown and are a pain- literally. I had a few tests done, and hopefully once all the results are in, the doc will have a plan to make things better, cause it is killer right now. Febs arrived five days late, but march arrived exactly on time - both came with excruciating pain (like, couldn't get out of bed for two days kind of pain) and I can't wait to see the dr (never thought I'd be excited to see the gyn) so I know what is going to happen to help fix this.
