My mom is not well enough to go with me to the gyno(im not sure how to spell)
So i get to go with my dad. yay. No offense, but i dont want to talk about why i need different birth control pills and my period while hes around. And, im afraid to go back with her by myself, because ive only met her once and if you know me you know how i hate not knowing the situation im getting into, it makes me panicy. Im just wondering how to go about this, i just wish my mom could go back with me! :/ Oh, im 16 if that matters! |

Oh dear hun, I can imagine how stressful and upsetting the situation you find yourself in is for you. I'm twice your age but don't think i would or could discuss such problems in front of my father. Is there a close female friend or relative that could go with you. Your father could then drive you and sit in the waiting room etc. If not perhaps sit down with your mum or school nurse and discuss your worries they maybe able to come up with a solution. Big hugs

Yes!! Its so tough! The closest i am with a female adult is my one teacher- and i think that would be inappropriate unfortuanatley. I'd ask my one aunt- but i dont see her as often as i'd like for it to be fully comfortable.........i'm just really at a loss.
My mom just told me to grow up :/ And that it'll be fine. But like that makes a difference. Thank you so much for your suggestions though!! Its comforting to know im not overreacting or being a little baby about it. (: |

((((((hugs)))))) oh god, I know the feeling. When I turned 17 I started going into those appointments by myself - my parent stayed in the waiting room. Could this be a possibility?

Could your dad go back with you for part of the appointment, maybe the basic information. And then go back to the waiting room? Maybe that would give you some time to feel more comfortable with the doctor?
I would not be able to go to the doctor for anything with my dad. |
