So, I am trying to avoid calling a doctor right away, cause it's expensive. Has anyone here ever dealt with a UTI? I currently have one, and I was given antibiotics but they don't appear to be working. Not to worry, I am still taking the antibiotic, I know not to stop taking it, but I am still miserable. My bladder feels like it's going to explode!

Has anyone ever experienced this? Should I wait a couple more days for my antibiotics to work? Or call my doctor now? I was prescribed them last Tuesday.

Go ahead and take the full prescription is what I would suggest--and make sure to drink plenty of water. If things aren't healed by the last day, then give your doc a call. Hope you'll be well soon.....
Thanks for this!

I feel your pain. Try drinking pomegranate juice. It is expensive, but it works wonders.

No, do not take more of these AB. There are many strands of UTI and different ABs work on different strands. If your AB has not kicked in by now, it is a wrong one. There are two approaches: trial and error of different ABs or taking a culture test, waiting for the results and then getting tthe right AB prescribed. The latter approach usually gives results in a shorter time, hence I recommend it. Untreated or incorrectly treated UTIs can and do lead to extremely, outrageously painful kidney infections, with almost unbearable pain. Please go to urgent care clinic tomorrow morning and request a culture test. I know it is expensive. My cliic gives me thirty percent off for my being without insurance. Ask yours. Do drink ocean spray cranberry juice and do eat many many portions of live culture yogurt a day. Good luck and keep us posted. Do not delay!!!

I've had many. They are horrid! The meds never worked for me either. Just drink LOADS of cranberry juice. That's all that worked for me.

I am definitely praying for you. I know how irritating UTIs are.

Sigh. I'm starting to feel silly asking virtually the same question all the time, but questions are how we learn, so...
What's a UTI?
