I have terrible issues, with self esteem, and depression...

I found out about three months ago I have been newly diagnosed with HPV. I was horrified and shocked by all of this and just from my mental health issues in general I handle stuff like this.

I have been doing as much research as possible on the subject, but mostly its just been a struggle for me just to come to terms with all of mentally.

I guess just like my mental health I need to realize this not my fault. And keep an eye on it so it does not go south to....cervical cancer.

But like anything I just will deal with it all when it happens.

(((((((((((kayla83)))))))))))--for one with "issues in self-esteem and depression" you sound as if you are handling this beautifully; via educating yourself on the topic and knowing what you need to to in future. KUDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I send you hopes that you will, in time "shed" the Human Papillomavirus in the future. Many do. It took me 15 years, but blood work drawn at that time showed that I had "shed" it completely.

I wish you all the best,,, and send you hugs...you are very strong, whether you see it or not...this dx is a shocker (to me? 6 weeks aft my son was born? ugh--culposcopy, cauterization of my cervix, and freezing....ugh...)

All gone now... I will keep you in my thoughts...........Pax, Virago

I was diagnosed with HPV after my 5th wedding anniversary. I was pretty shocked and confused on how this could be, but I quickly moved onto treatment: cryosurgery.

Honestly, cryosurgery was very physically uncomfortable, but I did have my hub there with me & we held hands during the treatment. That made me feel a lot better emotionally. After that, I had pap smear tests quarterly for one year; then bi-annually before moving back to annual pap smears.

Things will get better...Try to think towards the future to get you through now. Gentle hugs to you ~ take care.
