This is not a topic I enjoy talking about at all, and even on here where I don't know and can't see anyone I hate discussing this topic.

But I've lately been having an issue and wanted to see if I'm the only one.
Every time it's that time of the month, I get hugely hormonal. I know that's normal of course. Except for me, the change has been becoming more and more dramatic. I'm talking to the point that I become suicidally depressed for days.

I've always been a bit depressive with my PTSD, but I have noticed there are certain times that I suddenly become unbelievably miserable. I'm not kidding when I said suicidal either. Today, I'm perfectly fine. 2 days ago, I was wondering what I'd leave in my note and how I'd do it. It's not to say there aren't other times I get that down, but usually there is a reason.

I know someone will say go to the doctor and discuss it, but I really can't. I can't even look at what I've written now, I'm just mashing at the keyboard pretending I'm not discussing this, haha.

Well the description you give is similar to how I figured out it was "not me" ie not my "fault" - I was like, I am just as poor today as I was yesterday, only today it's fine and yesterday it was NOT fine at all! So nothing has changed - so what has changed?? Just get meds!

I don't really do medications if I can avoid it as 1. they rarely if ever work for me, and 2. I've suffered some quite dramatic side affects from meds, such as gaining 15 kilos in 2 months, even side effects that aren't really associated with that particular medication, like losing so much much hair I would have ended up bald if I hadn't worked out what was causing it.
Of course for a hormonal thing it can be a bit difficult to treat without medication, but I wanted to know how often others deal with the same thing.

Hi Evening, I think that before your time of month, or during you should surround yourself with friends and family. Do things that make you happy, and excited, also exercise and eat healthy, like less sugar and salt etc. Also you don't have to be embarrassed, and I think you should maybe see a female doctor or have a trusted friend go with you to the doctor. I would suggest just keeping your mind clear be outside, get rest. You don't have to resort to med, many times they are not reliable. Good Luck

Sorry that you are going through this.
When I was younger (in my 20's-30's) the hormone shifts were brutal, making all my psych issues go to the extremes. Lots of hospitalizations etc. My gyno tried different hormone therapies. After exhausting the different dosages/types of hormones with no results, I had a radical hysterectomy about 5 yrs ago .. nothing left, not even my cervix. Took a few months of going through the night sweats. but then things calmed down dramatically. I am 43 now, had only 2 hospitalizations since. I am not on any hormone therapy, a lot of women do after a hysterectomy. But considering that my hormones where making things so much more difficult, doc and I decided to forgo them.
Well, that's how I dealt with it.

Sorry this is a hard subject for you to speak with your doctor - would getting a female doctor make it easier to talk about. I have a female doctor for that reason. There's PMS and then Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder ...here's an article from PC and another one. Please do see what kind of help there is to get relief......its a real issue for many women.

Iiiiiiinteresting. Thanks everyone. I might look more into it. My mamma and auntie both have endometriosis and I think I may have that myself due to one particular symptom I get, but I haven't seen a doctor about that either. I have no idea what's going on with me, haha, but I just cannot bring myself to discuss it with someone.

Personally, I cannot stress enough, the importance of regular check ups!!!

What symptom, of endometriosis, is too hard to talk about? Doctors are trained and used to hearing all kinds of things. Even to discuss fluctuations in moods.

Endo can be very painful, and like someone with fibroids, there can be a large loss of blood. My mom and grandmom had fibroids and those aren't fun. I work with a woman who had endo, and she had to rely on one of her babies diapers, a few times just to get through the days counted to get into her doctor.

The earlier one can be treated for anything, the better! The longer one waits, the worse health can become
