I have a cyst on my inner thigh that's starting to get sore again, it first showed up in my early teens, and being self conscious about it I never told anyone. It ended up getting to the point where it was starting to get really big, sore and forming a "head". I took some ice to numb the area and took care of it myself (or so I thought). Apparently I left the "seed" in cause all did was break the top skin layer and squeeze it out, it was so disgusting. But now, I'm 30 and gradually it started getting a little bigger again and now it seems like its gonna "blow" in the next few days. I don't want it to get to that point cause last time I could barely walk it hurt so bad. I can't afford insurance yet so going to a dr. is out of the question right now. Does anyone have any tips on how to get it to shrink down before it starts to get too bad?

Google "boil". It'll tell you what to do.

Be very careful if you "pop" it again as I assume there is a lot of bacteria in there...and if you get an infection you will need to go to the dr., insurance or not. Definitely google and see what you can find, but do make sure you clean it properly so it doesn't get infected afterwards. (I have had tons of skin issues so I can relate.) I know this must be painful, so I am sorry! If it's not completely gone once you do have insurance, definitely get it checked out so maybe a dermatologist can make sure it stays away for good.

I did manage to pop it, I had to do this once before way back in my early teens but it ended up coming back, I'll have the "seed" removed as soon as I can. I used alcohol and neosporin and will continue to keep the area as clean as possible. Thanks y'all

I don't know how good it will be.... try using toothpaste, it shrink pimples. Honey is an antiseptic and can be used. Ice is always a soother. Alcohol and neosprin is definitely good option.

I recently developed a cyst on my shoulder blade. It got bigger and bigger, and one day it sort of popped. I pressed on it (trying to turn it towards the mirror) and more came out. This went on for about a week. I'd shower, it would drain a little, then I'd wipe it with H2O2 or rubbing alcohol and put a band aid on it with anti-biotic ointment and acne spot cream mixed together until the next time I showered. At this point, it's still there, much smaller, but doesn't bother me. I'm sure at some point, I'll go through all that again and maybe eventually I'll have the thing surgically removed so it stops coming back. I think the best thing you can do is keep it as clean as possible until you can talk to a doctor about it.

I managed to drain it yesterday, the only issue I'm having now is the quarter sized "knot" I have from it. I don't remember getting that the first time but that was so long ago. I guess I'll have to see how that heals up.

I have had two of those. They are so annoying. The doctor had to cut out the sac so that it did not return.

I'll see a doctor to have that done for sure when I can. I just can't afford a bill like that just yet
I think they're genetic, at least they run in my family line. My mom had one and my uncle, I'm sure there's more that have but I know for sure they both have.

I get them ummm up a little higher. I have had to have some cut out before that were not pleasant but once they get that "seed" or sac it doesn't come back in the same places. My Dad use to get them and so did my brother and now my kids get them as well. some kind of impurity in the blood I think that is hereditary. maybe just a dr visit is all you would have to pay for. good luck!
