Within 4 months of starting the Nuvaring I have gained 25 lbs! I am super bloated, moody/sluggish, I don't want to do anything or go anywhere and my sex drive has gone way down. My main concern is the weight gain though and my question is, if I go off it will I easily lose the weight? I know everybody is different, but in general does going off make it easy to lose the weight?
Ps. I recently went off 300mg of Wellbutrin XL.. so that may have to do with some of the weight gain. But I am so bloated, so I have a feeling it has more to do with the Nuvaring, and plan on going off it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! |

I did Nuvaring for most of college and gained about 50 pounds between the years. However, I never associated the weight gain with the Nuvarring. The only different I noted was I was more emotionally stable during my premenstrual time. I have not really been able to lose the weight but again I never thought to associate it with Nuvaring.
It is pretty commonly known that bc in general does tend to cause weight gain, so your weight gain in such a short time sounds more intense/relted to the bc. I know that Nuvaring is a lesser steroid option - maybe you can ask the gyno for a different prescription? Good luck!

How long did it take for the withdrawal symptoms from Wellbutrin to go away? I am planning on going back on it once I've been off for a month (per my Dr.) and I was wondering if maybe I should first see what it feels like once the withdrawals have subsided.

It took me several weeks for the wd symptoms to subside. I really don't feel I'm qualified to offer any other advice, but I guess if it was me, I'd want to go your route, as well. The best!

I've been told Wellbutrin is a stimulate as well. I'm currently taking it, so I can't tell you anything about going off it or withdrawal symptoms. I wonder if the combination of starting nuva-ring close to going off wellbutrin just combined the side affects of each to make you gain weight like that.
Good luck! |

Oh my am I late in replying. No I am no longer on Nuvaring. I took myself off because it was jacking my emotions up way too much. I know that was the cause because I haven't had those emotional bouts of tears nearly at all since.
