Since January - I've noticed I've been losing my hair at the front of my head - it's now noticeably quite thin. I've had to change my hair style to brush the side over the top, to hide my scalp.

I don't know if it's meds (I'm on a lot), stress, or menopause.

Is there anything I can do (products, treatments) to stop, or reverse it.

Thanks.

I've had that trouble with some meds. Right now the blood thinner I'm on seems to have caused more hair loss. Mine has got that thin yet but I do worry about it. I was, also, on a pysch med that caused hair loss but I can't remember which med it was.

I'm not sure what helps except if a medication is doing it, stopping taking it will stop the hair from falling out. Of course, I would talk to my doctor before I went off any med.

Splitimage,

I've been dealing with major hair loss, thinning, and drastic change of hair quality/texture of growth of "new hair". I've been discussing this major concern with my doctor(s) in these past six months.

It seemed to respond to two series of treatments back in the winter; cannot recall offhand the name of the rx med, a long gibberish chemical name. However the improvement seemed to last but a couple months. I've been losing handfuls of hair daily for ~ four months. Unlike your 'alopecia'-like hairloss at your temples, mine is all along my hair part line and the crown. It's disturbing to me daily to see my pink scalp 'bare naked' save for the 'brushover' of ultra thin silver-there-hair.

My PCP checked my head, hair and nails thoroughly yesterday.
She is monitoring for low thyroid monthly; and strongly suggested that I get onto a good biotin supplement. You can PM me if you care for further info. As notz suggested, be sure to discuss with your doctor and that your thyroid TSH-T3-T4 are checked.

Princess's lifelong hair care experts, who've well loved Princess and her hair, have also been helpful in consulting and recommendations, albeit from way longdistance now. Apple cider vinegar water hair rinse after shampooing and conditioning. Lemon juice and water hair rinse. Rinse hair thoroughly with fresh water.

A longtime remedy tried, used by many to promote hair growth, to replace the thinning/balding (odd as it sounds) is monistat cream. Yes, that same monistat cream. Read up on the internet its pros and cons, discuss with your own doctor, hairdresser, decide for yourself.

Good luck. I wish for you the return to your full, true crowning glory, Splitimage.
Thanks for this!
