I'm 31 female and I have totally lost my sex drive.. My poor fiancée gets frustrated but is trying to understand. I dint even understand it. I originally thought it was because I'm heavy but I'm exercising everyday to get fit. I just literally have no desire to have sex in fact when I think about I see no point in it unless its for having a child. I used to enjoy sex

Hi Lizzy31,
I'm so sorry you're going thru this and would feel as you do regarding your fiance'. Have you talked to a medical doctor about this? At 31, and exercising everyday, it does seem odd that you're experiancing this. It could be emotional too, but since you didn't mention anything like that (other than guilty feelings for your fiance') I would take the physical route first. Good luck and take care!

You should definitely research each medication & see which of those have low sex drive as a side effect, especially if your doctor didn't tell you that could happen. Also, do they know you have PCOS & take birth control? It's really important that all your doctors know what's going on & who's giving what to prevent unwanted side effects.
If you find out one of these is causing this you can talk to the doctor giving it as suggested & tell them you want an alternative with the same benefits that doesn't affect sex drive. |

I actually talked to Dr last the about the birth control and pcos. She said it was fine surprisingly. The birth control has also must likely given me a tumor on my liver. My gastro told me to keep taking it though! I have been recently having a multitude of stomach issues as well. I also don't like to be touched at all anymore because I fear it leading toward sex which I have no desire to have. Any little touch makes me shudder and shrug it of and just feel gross inside

I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time. I don't know the particulars of PCOS but I'm familiar with not having your concerns heard by doctors who are too pompous to really address them. It's ok to feel guilty; in situations like yours its normal. It's hard not being able to share that part of yourself with your partner, so that's why I'm stressing this. Please don't blame yourself. I know things aren't simple but have you considered looking for second opinions? I say this because this seems to be causing you major discomfort & you indicated you feel it's affecting your relationship. Also, sometimes doctors within the same specialty have differing opinions & solutions, so there's probably other possibilities for you. I know this is hard for you; hang in there.

Being medicated will definitely cause side effects, such as lack of desire for intimacy. And making love does not hurt physically

I do have fatty liver and need to get tested every 6 months as there is a benign nodule on it as well. I definitely think the blood test is a good idea.

Lizzy, why were you prescribed Nuvigil? Were you falling asleep at work? Or are you actually working different shifts including night shifts?

I hope in your case it's just a side-effect from one of your meds so you can return to the way you were but do know that there are others who share similar problems, sometimes that helps a little. |
