Ladies! Help!

Im on Day 10 of starting Microgestin...I haven't taken bc pills in years. I.am.miserable. I am cramping the last few days like its my period...both in ovary area and my pelvis in general. And spotting a lot.

I am supposed to go to a new gynecologist for a second opinion next week. My pdoc wants me to see a different Dr (its about possibly having PCOS).

The gynecologist who I saw that prescribed these was very unkind and dismissed me and made me feel very dumb etc. I went ahead and started taking these pills because I had just had a period after not having one for 3 months and I had no idea when Id have another one.

Well....so the Dr next week...will it matter if Im still spotting?

I'm not sure of the question. Matter to who? The doctor?
When I first started Birth control and again when I switched to a different brand, I spotted for over a month before things became regular.
Hope this helps !

That depends on the doctor. I've known docs that didn't mind as long as you were ok with it and I've known others who said it made it too hard to see. I'd imagine that with just spotting there shouldn't be any problem. Hope you get everything figured out

Yeah I didn't know if the Dr cared. Its kind of embarrassing. I have only ever gone to a gynecologist for the annual exam and of course I was never bleeding. I just didn't know if it mattered.

Can you tell Im just really anxious about it all together??

Well it sounds like you had an awful experience with the doc that prescribed this particular BC. I can't blame you for being anxious. It takes some trial and error to find a good doc that you are comfortable with and that listens but it is definitely worth it. Sometimes you can find a good one by asking your regular doc.

I'm very lucky and my GP does my yearly physicals now. She's also given me the name of her Gynecologist. I've checked him out to see what I thought just in case I ever had an abnormal pap or something where I need an actual gynecologist. I usually have trouble with male docs of any sort but he seems really nice and put me at ease so I think he'd be ok.

I am so sorry to hear it is not going well. ((((((Halliebeth87))))))

The new doc should be able to do an exam with out any trouble if they need to do one, even with active bleeding. It will be important to be checked if cycle is so off with a pill. It does take a cycle or two sometimes to get a adjusted to a new one, but not if there are other issues causing the problem instead. HArd to gauge at times. If the other doc was that callous, I would definitely want a second opinion. It is good you are going in. I will be hoping the appt with the new one goes better and you find some help with them. Hang in there.
