So, when I first got diagnosed with MS, I checked out an MS support board (which was sooo depressing, I haven't been back) but there was one guy who used a lot of humor, and one of the things he said was "Its better to look good then feel good." He was making light of feeling terrible all the time, but lately I've really taken that to heart, and it's helping.....

I notice that when I take 20 minutes to throw on a bit of eye makeup and make sure my hair looks ok, and put on an outfit that doesn't look slept in, that I FEEL better. On days I want to be scrubby, I feel worse and lazier. Granted I still take those days....but I seem to actually feel better physically and mentally when I look prsentable. I'm definetly NOT high maintenence by any means.....20 minutes is usually all I spend on looking better.

My friends got me a gift card for 6 eyebrow waxes and I love the days when I go in and get pampered for 5 minutes.

So.....my question in this thread is, what do you do to make yourself feel better? What sort of things do you do to pamper yourself?

Oh, another thing I do is put a little olive oil in my baths....skin feels soooo smooth after, and its much cheaper then the expensive bath oils in the beauty isle. Things that help me feel better

This is interesting, because I feel worse when I'm NOT "scrubby." Dressing up is so antithetical to who I am that I feel like a fraud -- not to mention very uncomfortable -- when I'm required to do it. I slap on the barest of makeup for work, but if I could get by with jeans and a sweatshirt every day, I'd do it! On nights and weekends I never get out of my sweats.

I used to take baths to help me feel better, but now that I've moved somewhere so incredibly cold, no matter how high I crank my heat and how hot I make the water, my bathtub is still freezing and I can't enjoy it anymore. Maybe it will be better in the summer.

I don't really get dressed up....just jeans and a top. But I've noticed that when I throw some makeup on, it helps me feel better. I still definetly have days where I dash outta the house though and don't care. I guess its cool to feel comfortable no matter what eh?

Something I like to do is go to hotel that has a jacuzzi for a night. I do this about once a year. I go shopping, eat when I want....dress up/down when I want to...and then I draw the water for the jacuzzi and just soak with some lavendar scented candles lit. After I do that I put my big terry cloth robe on and do my own pedicure/manicure. I put lotion on me and just take my time. I focus on me and what I want and what feels good to me.
This reminds me....I need this alone time again.......

I do my toenails! I put them in a warm tub of water with nice smelling soap and scrub off all the dead skin... lol I cannot spell the word I want to use for the LIFE of me!!! Then I use this nice cooling lotion on my feet and paint my toenails BRIGHT pink or red! I also love how I feel after I wash my hair. Sometimes when I don't have time for a shower, I'll wash my hair in the sink and that's enough to make me feel prettier.

I haven't done my toes in awhile. One time I even did a french on my toes with pink as the tips instead of white. They looked sweet!!!

I take a shower.
Something about being all clean makes me feel refreshed
and good about myself.
Then I do my hair and make-up.

Also, hot chocolate and tea
make me feel good.

or if i'm angry, i'll listen to Limp Bizkit, Slipknot or just some angry song
if i'm feeling hopeless i'll listen to good charlotte - "Hold On" "Motivation Proclamation" and "March On"
and i write my own songs aswell
that helps quite a bit. to just get it all out and onto paper
