Hi all,

Just needed some more experienced women to talk to!

Last year, when I was 19, I had some CIN2 changes in my cervix. It was all fixed up by the LEEP a year ago and all was good.

I visited my gyno today, a year later and from the colposcopy today, he believes I have CIN1 changes. Still waiting on the biopsy and everything to confirm, but what does this mean for me? I know they don't specifically treat the grade 1 changes, but does this mean it will turn back into CIN2? Will I have to have more surgery? I'm only 20, and it upsets me a lot, he didn't give me much info at all, and I'm worried because my grandmother died of cervical cancer.

i wish someone would answer your post. i wonder if you could find your answer on the internet?

i had the surgery but it never came back so i cant help.
my daughter has been abnormal, they did the biopsy, and said they wanted to do surgery but it would reduce her chance of being able to have kids. she didnt want this so she refused. all her labs have been normal since having her two sons.

Is there a hereditary predisposition to cervical cancer? I wonder because I have never heard of it, and yet you are linking yourself and your late grandma in a way that suggests that something is hereditary. At any rate, waiting for a biopsy must be an unsettling time; hope the results are reassuring - keep us posted.
