i have cervical cancer. and will probably have surgery this week. the doc is trying to work me into a small hospital where i want to go. i'm pretty pissed. i've already had breast cancer and i'm not enjoying this second dance.

my wagons are circling though, here, and in IRL.......i'm scared to death, actually. i remember how sick i was with breast cancer and i was 31.....i'm 63 now. oy vey........i dread this.

a friend offered to try to find me a vagina transplant....... my southern netherlands and i politely said i'd stick with what i have...... my southern netherlands

my world is not as i knew it..........not at all.........i just thought it was bad before......as bob says, "you think you've lost everything and you find out you can always lose a little more"...............oxoxox pat

((( Pat )))

This is such sad news. I'm so sorry. My best friend just got dx'd as well. She went in and had it scraped and they took a piece of her cervix for a biopsy. They're hopefull they got it all. I guess the biopsy showed that it hadn't spread too far yet, so she's not facing chemo or anything as of yet. She'll have a PAP in 3 months, and once she's had 2 clear PAP's, they'll be confident its gone.

What stage are you in? Are they doing the scraping? What are they planning? I hope everything will be ok. =(

Keep us posted.

Oh Pat. I'm so sad you got this news. It sucks! Period! I can't wrap it up in flowers and butterflies and make it okay even though I wish I could. I wish you didn't have to go through this. I could go on a rant about how much this pisses me off, but it won't do any good.

A few positive thoughts -- because that's all I can offer other than my love and support --

1. Cervical cancer is a highly treatable, curable cancer. Removal of the cancerous cells is often enough to get rid of it. My brother's birth mother had it 24 years ago -- and hers was quite advanced. She had the cancer removed and she has been fit as a fiddle ever since.

2. You are an AMAZING, strong, funny, passionate, tough broad, dammit. This is not going to change that. You are always braced for battle, woman!!! Your positive, fearless spirit is your greatest weapon... and it's okay for even fearless women to get scared sometimes.

Anyway, I hope this is an easy battle -- get the cells scraped, get some rest, eat some ice cream and you'll be good as new and so will your southern netherlands. I'm going to be thinking all sorts of positive thoughts for you and sending positive energy your way. I'm even going to get my mum to put you on her prayer group's list. (They love praying for people.)

Btw, if you change your mind about the vagina transplant, you can have mine. I'm not using it anyway.

my southern netherlands my southern netherlands my southern netherlands my southern netherlands my southern netherlands

Seriously. It's been idle for a while. It would a shame for it to go to waste.

Oh my Pat, I'm sorry you are having to face that C-word again. It's very scary to hear.

I hope everything goes very well for you and the recovery is easier than you anticipate. Take good care of you and know I am here with you in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. Life can be so unfair sometimes. I only wish you the best, and a quick recovery from the surgery and everything they do. I hope they get it all the first time.

((((((((((((Pat)))))))))))))

I wish you didn't have to go through this. You're really strong and brave. You must be scared. If you get too scared don't be afraid to ask for benzos.

(((((((((((((Pat))))))))))))))) I'm so sorry this is happening to you. The waiting game is tough. Keep yourself busy with fun things to keep your mind off things.

I remember when I had my breast lump scare. It's a tough time.

(((((((((((((Pat)))))))))))))))

Don't be afraid to ask for some loving attention. I'll give you a million hugs if that's what you need.

We're more than circling Pat, we're having a war powow!!! War against this "C"!!

*Putting on the warpaint* (not a pretty sight, but it should work wonders *wink*)

I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. You are in my prayers as well as the surgeons. Remember to breath m'dear....take it one step at a time. I know it's hard not to project the "what if's" at this stage of the game. You are a strong woman....you have a lot of previous education to lean back on and use to your advantage...not to mention all of us waiting to catch you if you need us!

Sending healing and loving thoughts your way!
