I've been on my period since 2 weeks now. This has never happened before. I usually bleed for 5-7 days (it has once or twice went on for 10 days but never 14) but it has been 14 days so far this time! idk why this is happening... i don't feel sick or anything; just stressed and stuff... and i usually get my period anywhere from 20-30 days (idk why but it's just never regulated enough for me to get it on an exact day). And i don't have cramps or anything (i don't usually get cramps when i'm on my period; i sometimes feel nauseous though the first day and my back hurts but other than that nothing really). But why is this happening? When is my period gonna stop?

And if age matters - I'm 18.

Edit: Also my period isn't heavy, but it doesn't seem like it's going to stop

hmm...I don't know what to say..your period sounds very much like mine was...I never knew when it was coming. it just came once a month but it wasn't consistent like those people who knew they were having it every twenty eight days. I never had cramps or anything like that to know it was coming and it too lasted about a week. but it never went over that. I know stress will do weird things to your period. have you an obgyn you can call? or is there a planned parenthood or womans clinic you can contact? they would be the best people to answer your question.

If on bc, could need a new one. My understanding is fibroids would make heavy. Are your regular exams normal? Cysts can cause spotting, not sure what else. Any changes in weight, diet, sleep, stress?

I'm having the same issue right now. Today is my 15th day on my period. This has never happened before & I want to go to the doctor but I'm in between insurance right now so I have to wait a few days.

Usually my period is 6 - 7 days, pretty heavy for about 5 - 6 of those days. This time it's not heavy, it's rather light for what I'm use to.

These last few months I have had the worst stress/anxiety/depression I've ever had in my life. I just got married, moved far from work/parents, and argue a lot with my husband. I don't get to see him during the week because he works nights. This causes me to worry about what he's doing while I'm at work (cheating) and then at night I'm severely depressed when he's at work.

I've lost a lot of weight due to loss of appetite and lack of sleep. I'm sure all these things have some impact on my period but I'm not sure if it's the main cause. Has anyone ever experienced this? What causes it?

Are you guys on the birth control pill, and skipping periods? Because that's when it happens for me - when I am on the pill, and don't take "breaks" as I am supposed to to have my period. Then I will suddenly get it, when I have skipped too many times for my body to deal, and then I can have it for like two weeks.

But if it's not that, I guess it is stress or major life changes. Mine has never been consistent either, though, it has varied around a week in each direction - this goes for the months I am off the pill and the years before I started it. I have never been one of those with a predictable cycle - so that's not something to worry about, I think.

my period actually lasted 3 weeks that time. I was supposed to go to the doctors but i decided to give it a few more days and it eventually ended. (I still have no idea why but I think it was probably due to the stress. I also lost wieght due to my lack of appetite). I'm on my period again now and hopefully it doesn't last for 3 weeks like last time. Also no I wasn't on the pill but I heard that if I went to the doctors they would put me on the pill and just hope that it ends :/

Hope you get better though kultking. All I can say is that give it some time and it will end and try to see the doctor (also since this is a prolonged period people advised me to eat food with iron in it because it can make you anemic with all the blood loss).

Thank you bubbles00. It finally ended yesterday so I'm relieved. Hopefully it's normal for you this time bubbles00. I will definitely bring this up to the doctor when I go in. I'm not on the pill btw.
