Hi, ladies.
Do any of you get severely depressed two weeks before getting your period? I've noticed it's become a monthly trend now. Each month becomes more difficult to cope than the last. I feel low, hopeless unworthy and burst into tears. Does anyone else feel this way? How do you cope? Thank you for reading. |

Since I stopped taking the pill last summer I am over all more emotional especially a few days before my period. I am pretty sure I am premenopausal which make me cry easy and more emotional.
Exercise helps and so does having a really good cry. I try to stay to myself and become more quiet so I don't stay something stupid. |

I used to get really depressed when I was younger. Now I just get really angry at other people which makes me feel terrible. I've been taking vitamins and trying to eat healthier, exercising a little... it does seem to help.

Have you considered taking birth control pills? Two weeks before getting your period is right about the time you most likely ovulate. Taking birth control pills may help in reducing or even eliminating peak hormonal changes that occur naturally over the progression of your cycle. Ths may further help reduce mood swings.

That sounds serious enough that I would talk to your gynecologist about it. I used to have problems with feeling emotional or angry but not nearly as severely as you are talking about. I am perimenopausal now and use bio-identical progesterone cream. It helps some. |

I'm going to visit my doctor soon and am thinking about going back on birth control. My moods since stopping birth control last summer have been a emotional roller coaster.

I'm having the same problem, only instead of feeling low, I am feeling such rage and anger at almost everyone. After teaching elementary students all day, I feel so bad for my own children because I have zero patience for them when I get home. And my husband? I want to divorce him at the same time every month. It's getting worse each month and takes me a little bit longer each month to recover. I feel like I'm getting to the point of just being angry or sad all the time. I've read that hormone levels could be a huge factor. I'm hoping to just keep my head down and mouth shut until I can get to my doctor and have my levels checked or something.
