I am a married woman of 5 years, 49 y.o. Up until about 6 months go, my husband and I had a very good sex life. For some reason, I have very little interest in it anymore. Could it be the meds I'm on (see list in my signature)? I also had ECT beginning in November, lasting until a few weeks ago. This barely there sex can't work out too well for us in the long run.
Maybe I should talk to my therapist about this too. I will talk to my psychiatrist about this the next time I see him. I don't have any real issues with my husband. I love him and want to remain married to him, and he expresses that he feels the same way. Thanks for any input. |

My understanding is that meds create a physical block to pleasure. Loss of interest definitely sounds like something to bring up.

Thanks. I think I will ask my pdoc next time I see him if any meds I'm on are noted for loss of libido.

Abilify killed my libido after 5 days so I kicked it to the curb.
A guy friend of mine takes it and he has problems with impotency. Its a sex killer all right! |

Thanks a lot for this info. My ECT pdoc added this to my mix when my depression was really severe. I wonder if I really need to be on this . . .

I'm only 23, take no meds, and still have very little interest in sex.
I hope you can figure out what's causing your lack of interest! Might be hormones too or stress? |
