So for my birthday in December, my friends got me a gift card to a local salon and spa for 6 eyebrow waxes. My friend is a massage therapist at this spa, and it is soo relaxing and wonderful there. For my 2 year sobriety anniversary, she got me a gift card for a facial.

I had yet to use it since she gave it to me because this last week has been, well....horrible.

So today I had my psych evaluation for my disability determination and it went fine, but afterwards I just HURT everywhere, not realizing how stressed I had been about this appointment and everything else that has been going on.

So I called the spa and they could get me in right away for my facial and brow wax. Never having a facial before, I didn't know what to expect. WOW. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! The products she used on my face smelled awesome and felt great. The beds you lay on are like laying on a pillow. While one of the products was working on my face, she gave me an arm, hand and foot massage, and put my hands and feet in warmers. They actually exfoliate and treat your face, as well as neck and shoulders. It was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!

To top it off, my friend told me she'll massage me for free one afternoon when she's off.

Its amazing what a little pampering can do....I am so relaxed, FINALLY!

I'm very very blessed to have this woman in my life.

Ah! That sounds great. I really would love all of those. After having 4 buildings and 10 billion floors I'd love to get one of those after walking around that school all week =]

About how much do they cost?

It depends on where you go....the facial I got would have been $65, but I had the gift card. I've heard of facials for cheaper. Just look in your phone book under "day spas" or "salons" and start calling around. They're awesome! If I ever get rich, I'm gonna get this day package I read about in their brochure. It was like $360 and its an ALL DAY thing full of massages, facials, manicure/pedicure, hair cut and color and even lunch!

Oh to be rich......

Hah. I wish I was. But I might look into getting one once I come up with some money.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!
I am sooooo jealous...but happy for you!! I used to get massages on a regular basis for my muscle tension around my neck, shoulders, and upper back. They helped so much with the tension.....miss them!!
What a lovely gift for you....awesome!!

What Pat said reminded me to look up the cosmetology school near here. Haircuts are $8 and a facial is $12!!!!! I haven't had one in ages and they are wonderful indeed. And an hour long massage at this place is $30. So yeah, definitely check out a beauty school near you!! And I'm glad you had a good and relaxing time at the spa. :-)
