I just wanted to remind you all that we ladies are not to post in the men's forum. There has been a little issue with that this past week so please let's not post there.
Thanks

Just out of curiosity, are we permitted to hug or thank them, or does that count as posting?

I think that would be posting. if someone wants to respond to a person in the men's forum I would send a pm asking if it would be ok to pm them about the thread.

Maybe the men's thread needs a password sent to men only and the women's thread needs a password sent to women only...what if a person is a mixed gender person or considers themselves to be both genders or neither gender?

You know, I really hate the separation, only because I think that there's a lot of questions that I think we could probably give them good answers to, or vice versa, or sometimes I feel like I relate to one of the postings, even though it was posted by a guy. I really feel like we all could give each other great advice. I know that they know we see what they post, and vice versa, so what difference at this point, does it make anyway? I thought I'd add the great words of Hillary Clinton in there for good measure, haha.

I don't go on the mens forum often, but there have been a few times where I've thought 'I could really say something here', but don't want to go sending a pm as I don't know if it would be appreciated. I thought it might be a good idea to have a men AND womens forum, for those who are fine with both responses, but I can picture that turning into a bit of a disaster with some of the posts I've seen in the past.

It's just a little weird for me to see a new thread in the Men's board being so openly objectifying and misogynistic to women, after also seeing posts on different boards about women being raped and abused. Do these guys have no idea that females also frequent these boards, especially women who have gone through a lot of actual REAL crap at the hands of men?

I know we (females) are not supposed to post in the men's forum, but I find a thread titled "if it has tires and tit.." offensive. I stay out of the men's forum because I respect their right to not have women poking their noses in the forum. But the afore mentioned thread is on the forum index page. Would such a title be allowed if it included a term for a racial group or religion?

I understand it is unpleasant to read that every women is such and such. But I have heard loads of women on this site stating men are crap. Not once, not twice. Why do these women do this? Because of hurt. Men have harmed them. Likewise when a man says women are bad, I will assume that comes from women having abused this man.

Why is it allowed for a woman to talk out of emotion and generalize, when it is not allowed for a man?

Why is it rarely understood, that not only women can be victims??? Here of all places should there be an understanding that any gender can be a victim of abuse.

I'm not saying it is right to say hurtful things because one has been hurt, but at least it is understandable.

The difference is, whether its in the thread title, or in the post. If its in the title, its unavoidable.

Jimi, I understand there are men here who have been hurt by women. I certainly don't want to prevent them from expressing it. What bothered me about the thread in question was the subject line glaring at me from the index page. At the risk of repeating myself, it was as offensive as if it included a racial group or religion.

Thankfully there is another thread with newer posts that has bumped it from the index page.

I agree. Maybe asking for the title to be changed is what is needed. Certainly retaliating with a man bashing thread isn't the right course of action, even though my stubborn will urges me to do so.

It's back on the index page as it's been replied to last. I am hoping that this can be resolved via a PM I sent to an admin. I seriously want to make a man bashing thread now more than ever.

Must. Resist. Urge.

Yea I agree about the title. But unfortunately it's like that with a lot of thread titles, like say for example self harm, it could maybe be better details was saved for inside the post instead of a graphic sentence as a title, and the same goes for some other forums and titles.

It is an inappropriate title for sure and it should be changed, but at the same time I think a thread like that is okay for men to vent and it is their right to do so...even though it comes across as immature and hurtful to us. It's kind of like how when women post a thread about how they are angry at men for something and random men start jumping in and prefacing everything with the obvious: "But not ALL men...." We know how annoying that can be.

I read that thread a little and I don't think they meant it to hurt anyone personally, and a few guys even apologized for it. People that are hurt or frustrated have the right to moan every once in awhile...I wouldn't start playing a game of who can bash who the best.

I couldn't agree more that we all need to vent a little sometime. I have done my fair share of venting about men in frustration. If I were to allow myself to follow my urge and post a thread describing how hurt men make me feel sometimes, well, I bet the guys would have the exact same things to say.

I thought it over, and I think that creating a retaliation thread only deepens the pain and hurt between the two genders and only serves to hurt both sides. After all, Ghandi once said, "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." Truer words have never been spoken IMHO.

The last thing we need is a gender war.

I just want the thread title to change is all. They can keep the thread as is otherwise.

This is our safe space and we can vent and rant about whatever we want(as long as within site guidelines). Let them do the same.

Over the years I have seen some threads in this section that would be just as offensive to a guy whether it was the title or the content.

I blocked the men's forum so A) I wouldn't accidentally respond to a thread in the new posts section B) some of it can be pretty brutal and I see no reason to go looking at something I know is going get my dander up

If you know you can't post in a forum or that there are posts that will trigger you, why not just block it?

Raindropvampire, how do I exclude just one forum? I tried, but it's still there. Obviously I did something wrong.
