Since this is mainly an issue affecting women between the ages of 20-40, I'm just wondering if anybody else has experienced this? I started getting the symptoms about 2 months ago, and now I have a very obvious rash around my mouth and the corners of my nose. I've always had dermatitis on my hands, but this is the first time it's appeared on my face. I'm 25 and have had relatively clear skin on my face until now. It's not life-threatening, but it's very unsightly and mildy burns. I'm trying to remove all face products, but I'm a moisturizing freak so it's been hard. Anybody experienced the same thing and manged it?

Have you tried a topical steroid cream? Or antifungal? Some rashes are fungal infections. Some are simply dermatitis like eczema which should respond to a topical steroid.

Steroid cream is usually what triggers this type of dermatitis unfortunately Perioral Dermatitis

I had to go to the dermatologist for mine. He put me on prednisone pills for about a week? Also gave me some cream.

I dont know what caused it, but he told me to ever after only use plain vaseline on my lips. I used to be a chapstick junkie!

Thanks for this. I'm a raging chapstick junkie so I'll have to sort it out!
