I have skin on the dry side with occasional zit. However, I work at McDonald's and my face is exposed to hot oil and grease and at the end of the day my pores are clogged and my face is oily and bumpy. I have basic facial wash but nothing I can depend on. What is a regimine I can use to keep my skin fresh and soft? Thanks.

I use neutrogena products: face wash, face lotion, and bb cream. And when I wash my skin, I use one of those battery powered brushes.
To keep my body soft, I use Nivea Creme Sensitive Moisturizing Body Wash. My fiance always comments on how soft my skin is.

Besides the general cleansing, toning and moisturizing, I would definitely add an exfoliating facial wash to the regime. Just to help with the clogged pores etc. I love the Nivea range - use their moisturizers and facial wipes and find them generally inexpensive (in South Africa).

My friend, I had the same problem when working at fast-food.
My first piece of advice is to omit, or at the very least limit the amount of make-up you wear. If you absolutely can't do without it, be sure to wash your face twice before bed with gentle cleanser. This will ensure there is nothing left to clog your pores. Exfoliate no more than three times a week, for doing so too often does more harm than good. After washing your face, be sure to use a toner. I tend to use lemon juice, though apple-cider vinegar works well too. A bit of advice: Don't go out into the sun straight after applying. I've heard it's bad, though I'm not really sure why. Also, be sure to dilute the vinegar in water. Moisturizing is just as important as cleansing and you should do so every morning after washing your face, and every night before going to bed. In the morning, I prefer to use just your average oil-free moisturizer and at night I massage my face with olive oil. Below I will provide a recipe for an exfoliant: -Green tea -brown sugar -olive oil -lemon juice Brew yourself a cup of tea and, after enjoying, empty the bag into a cup. Mix in brown sugar, olive oil, and if desired, lemon juice. It shouldn't be too runny, but it shouldn't be completely sugar either. I recommend making only enough for the week at a time. Brown sugar is a gentle exfoliant and a natural humectant. Olive oil is wonderful for repairing damage and restoring moisture which is why, aside from mixing it into an exfoliant, I recommend using it before bed. Green tea is rich in antioxidants and reduces sun-damage. I add lemon juice simply to keep from tanning in the relentless Texas summer-it is still summer here-but you can substitute it with whatever you fancy. Tomato, are wonderful, for example. Massaging helps release toxins and fluid retention, as well as improves circulation. If you would like a massaging technique, I would be happy to share that as well. I hope I have been of some help; good luck. |

I'm really really loving all of the new charcoal products. The charcoal mask by Say Yes to Tomatoes is my favorite!
