Why is it that when I get sick enough to have to go to the hospital for a physical ailment I get my period. I can go a year without one then bam have to get an x-ray for something and end up with my period a couple of days later.

I have PCOS so its not unusual for me to not have a period but it happened again. Last week I had to go to the hospital because I couldn't walk on my ankle and thought maybe I did something bad to it and had it xrayed and 2 days later started my period. Maybe I need to get xrayed once a month to get my period. SHeesh.

It's actually pretty common! Every time I have had a surgery I got my period while in the hospital - even if I had it the week before.

A nurse told me it happens alot because your messing with your body.

I feel for you Jbug I get my periods at the worst moments..like before a 14 hour train trip...also when friends die...(sorry)...when I was a burn victim....when I receive visitors from long distances...when Ive got an important speech....when I'm attending important meetings....etc... its all emotional (I'm 50).....but isn't it horrible when you need medical attention...like laying on a table for a med.exam......blahhhh... Why is it?....and before that train trip which had to be repeated 2 days later months had gone by.Unpredictable friends huh?

It is kind of funny but I haven't had my friend since then and wouldn't you know I had gone out to buy stuff for the stupid thing and now have them for no reason LOL.

honestly....i think Doctors know that periods have intutions...they just dont tell us because pmsing women who bleed profusely 24/7 are more like to kill them and literally go bonkers if we knew the one thing that we hate the most has control over what we do...what we eat...and how we think....lol that was meant to be funny
