Hello ladies, do any of you have issues dealing with super thick and coarse upper lip hair that happens to grow super fast? Mine does!

If I don't pluck some of the hairs on the side of my lips, I'll end up looking like I'm growing a man's mustache! Ugh! I make the mistake of shaving it every other day since it grows so fast, but it's usually to short to pluck or wax.

So I was wondering if cream bleach works or not. Not the one for hair removal, the one that just bleaches and lightens dark hair. If so, which brand is safe and good to use?

Does it lighten hair right away, or does it take time to do so? I'm tired of having to use a 10x magnifiying mirror to pluck my hairs every other day! I have light skin and dark hair, so that makes my hair a lot more obvious.

I'd appreciate any feebback or hear from any of you with similar issues and how you deal with your upper lip hair. I'd get it lasered off if I could afford to do so but I can't for now-

I don't have any answers but can sympathize. I get these wild black coarse hairs on my chin & throat. Guess it's hormonal. Super embarrassing & once in awhile on my upper lip.
But I only pluck them bec it seems to take a bit longer till it grows back.
Ugh totally!

I used to use bleach in high school. Now I just shave the spots. I don't get much. Also I get my eyebrows waxed and if my lip looks like anything they wax it off.

I don't personally have that problem, but I do know from doing hair removal in other areas that plucking and shaving are not good to do on your face because they cause the hair to grow back thicker and darker. Plucking also tends to cause new hairs to surface. Laser hair removal and electrolysis (though expensive) are the only way to actually cause the hair to stop growing or, at least, come back lighter and finer. I do laser hair removal in other areas and love it. Bleach will make it lighter, but it will still be noticeable and won't give you the results you probably want.

Dang hormones... no fun

I have used creams, they seem to work pretty well.

Currently, I use Smooth Away. It is a thing that's like a smooth sandpaper of sorts & you rub the area in circular motion. You're supposed to be able to use it anywhere on the body (but I stick to my upper lip). It works very well for me, and no chemicals. I like that!

I disagree about plucking causing it to return thicker or coarser.

I use an epilator (basically plucks a bunch at once). In time with regular use, I notice that a few of the hairs don't grow back. I guess they lost the battle so many times that they gave up

For me, depilatories didn't work well on the stubborn ones..

There is a prescription cream that I had tried once, but it is expensive and doesn't stop growth entirely or straight away.

I would love to get laser, but it's not in my foreseeable future.

(yaaaayyy hormone changes!)

If you have anything more than a little bit, than bleaching would probably be bad. I just shave 2 little spots and it doesn't grow in any different. I don't shave the whole lip or the light hair. Just a few little spots. And just once every 2 weeks.

I am not an overly hairy person.

Why would bleaching be bad if I had more than a little? I just pluck and shave the dark hairs. I get a full face wax every once in awhile and I use Nair every now and then on my face. I have to pluck and shave everything often which is so annoying!

If you already, pluck, shave, have a wax and use NAIR, I can't imagine you would have anything to bleach!

Thanks. I would love to be able to laser everything off, but I can't afford that kind of treatment anytime soon-

lol. Well, I thought that maybe if I bleach certain areas on my face, like the side of my face and my chin area, that the fine dark hairs there wouldn't need to be waxed as often. And that I wouldn't have to use Nair as often.

The hair on my face grows so fast, that it's ridiculous! If I let my upper lip hair just grow, I'd have a mustache like a man in no time, ugh! I recently got my whole face waxed, and omg, it hurt since there was so much there!
