I'm not kidding, they're crazy. Almost every month... They're so bad I have to take a ridiculous amount of ibuprofen OR an actual painkiller (narcotic). Heat helps some. Last night I was awakened by cramps and I was nearly in tears. I HATE this. Why can't hysterectomies be elective?? (No offense intended to those that have needed one).
That's it, I'm done ranting. |

Are you at an age where you're considering an ablation or hysterectomy? Are you finished with children? Or the possibilty of them. Then you can look at these options.

I don't want children. I have the four-legged vanity and that's enough for me. I also have this fear of doctors and people touching me, so I'm not sure I'll actually do anything about this.

My daughter had severe pain that gradually got worse over a few years. They put her thru a couple years worth of tests and still didn't know what was wrong. She was 28 and had 4 kids so they offered her a hysterectomy. AFTER they removed her uterus they were able to diagnose and it was enlarged uterus. Basically what it is, not all of the lining sheds each month and it builds and causes circulatory congestion in the area, pain all month and severe pain with periods. Maybe you could be checked for it, but they may not offer hysterectomy since you have no kids. (It did not interefere with her having kids.)
I hope you find relief soon. ![]()

Besides pain killers there are certain birth control pills that could help with the cramps. You would have to see a doctor for those though. If the pain is really bad I'd want to see a medical doctor.

Get checked for endometriosis, also, try getting on a birth control regimin if you can. I recently got the endo diagnosis a year ago, started a birthcontrol and my cramps/dysmorrhea is much more tolerable. Sometimes i can get by with a couple regular aleve for a day and the cramps are gone. I would have cramps for 3 whole days and bleed for a full week.
Hope this helps!

A year or so after my third was born I started getting cramps so bad they were worse than labour. I went to the dr and told him this was ridiculous and take it out. He gave me pain pills. Later I was complaining and my chiropractor ask a bunch of questions and figured out that I was low in calcium. Started taking calcium and the cramps went away. It was a few years after that that we found out I had hashimotos which effects the thyroid and that causes an inability to absorb calcium and low calcium can cause really bad cramping.
